Internship for Hurricanes 2025 Super Rugby Pacific Season

As a Team Operations Intern, you'll play a key role in supporting our diverse club—encompassing the Hurricanes, Hunters, Age Grade, and Poua—while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in the operational and logistical aspects of professional sports management. This role encompasses working across all of our teams which includes the Hurricanes, Hunters, Age Grade and Poua.  We will provide you with an opportunity to learn firsthand how a professional club manages its teams at both an amateur and professional level. You will report directly to the Team Operations Manager whilst working closely with other members of our Rugby Department and other Team Managers.

Responsibilities

This role includes assisting with the following:

  1. Allocating and managing all team equipment for Age Grade, Hunters and Poua
  2. Assisting with bookings relating to transport and accommodation for our Hunters and Age Grade Teams
  3. Working with the Team Managers for the Hunters and Age Grade Teams as they prepare for matches 
  4. Working with the Hunters and Age Grade teams on match day
  5. Setting up and putting away all equipment in consultation with Rugby staff for all identified training sessions
  6. Assisting with the outfitting and managing of team apparel across the club
  7. Updating the Club data base with key squad information across all of our teams
  8. Assisting with game day operations as required

Time commitment:

This role is full time from Monday 18 November through until Friday 27 June.  There will be some flexibility throughout the season where you may not be required on a player’s day off during the week and our bye weeks.

Qualifications:

There are no specific qualifications required for this position, although someone who is completing or has completed a sports management qualification would be useful.
