Former Hurricanes captain Conrad Smith has been appointed as one of the inaugural trustees to the Hurricanes Alumni Board.
Smith, who played more than 100 matches for the club and was captain until heading to France to continue his illustrious playing career in 2015, is joined by two other former Hurricanes players in Shannon Paku and Mike Russell.
Paku was a fullback/wing who represented the Hurricanes 55 times through the 2000s, while Russell was a lock who played for the club on 18 occasions including every match in its inaugural season in 1996.
Among the other trustees is Tony Bedford who was the Hurricanes team manager from 1995 to 2010.
The full list of trustees is Smith, Russell, Paku, Bedford, Quentin Hay, and Grant McPherson (Independent).
The trustees were appointed by the Hurricanes Alumni Board Appointments Panel of Nigel Hughes and Brian Roche.
