The Hurricanes Poua team has been named to face the Blues women in the 2025 SKY Super Rugby Aupiki first round at 4:35PM at SKY Stadium. The match this Saturday afternoon will be the 14th match the Poua will play in the competition and the fourth year of Super Rugby Aupiki.
As we build into the Rugby World Cup the Poua athletes will want to showcase their talents, and with Black Ferns including Monica Tagoai, Ayesha Leti’iga, Layla Sae, and Iritana Hohaia named in the starting 15, the team will lean on their experience and skill.
Head Coach Fusi Feaunati said “We’re really looking forward to seeing the girls continue the hard work that they’ve put into their preparation for this season. It's exciting heading into this weekend, on and off the field. As a team we understand our purpose and why we play at this level.”
“We have some significant players that will return to the field after some time away from rugby and we have some young talent on the bench with potential to make their debut for the Hurricanes Poua.”
Former Black Ferns Nat Delamere and Angel Mulu look to bring the Poua power to the forward pack in this line up against the Blues. The team has had a strong preseason after beating the NSW Waratahs and Matatu in their lead-up matches.
