The Hurricanes are delighted to announce a major partnership with Dettol for the 2021 and 2022 Super Rugby seasons.
Dettol has an 80-year history at the forefront of germ protection across the world and has been voted New Zealand’s most trusted cleaning brand since 20111.
Hurricanes CEO, Avan Lee, says it’s exciting to have ties to such an established and revered brand.
“We’re very pleased to be welcoming RB, maker of Dettol, to the Hurricanes family. Dettol has made a name for itself as world leader in cleaning and personal hygiene products and we look forward to working with them over the next two years.”
As part of the deal, Dettol stations will be placed around Sky Stadium, meaning fans will be able to sanitise their hands at home games.
Lee says it is an added mechanism to help keep the capital’s rugby scene in business.
“Obviously, vigilance is key, especially as we’re frequently bringing together large crowds. We want to keep our rugby season thriving this year and having sanitiser readily available for our members and fans helps us manage that risk and allows people to keep enjoying their favourite sport and feel safer.”
RB Country Manager New Zealand, Daniel Smith, says the company is equally thrilled and proud to be teaming up with the Hurricanes.
“RB aims to protect, support and nurture our communities as we strive for a cleaner, healthier world.
This partnership is designed to protect the sport so many Kiwis love, from watching our national teams play, to participating in games ourselves through community clubs. Together we will help to embed important hygiene habits into the lives of all Kiwis in these challenging times,” he says.
Dettol will be available at Sky Stadium from February 27, when the Hurricanes kick off the 2021 Super Rugby calendar with a clash against the Blues.
