The Investec Super Rugby trophy is the Hurricanes trophy.
After 20 years and 21 seasons the Hurricanes have finally broken the club's drought and won the Super Rugby title with a 20-3 win over the Lions in the final at Westpac Stadium.
A mammoth defensive effort that stretched over three playoff matches saw them win the title in front of more than 39,000 fans in Wellington.
Tries to wing Cory Jane and first five and man of the match Beauden Barrett, who also added two penalties and two conversions, saw the home side home in wet and windy conditions.
Under coaches Chris Boyd and John Plumtree the Hurricanes won the New Zealand Conference title and strung together eight straight wins, a club record, to finish as Super Rugby's champions.
