The Hurricanes have ended their two-match tour of South Africa and Argentina on a high note, beating the Jaguares 34-9 in Buenos Aires.

The bonus point win, which included them scoring five unanswered tries, was the perfect way to end a tough two weeks on the road as they return to face the Crusaders in Wellington on Saturday night for Opening Night.

On a hot night in the Argentinian capital, the Hurricanes soaked up a good start from their hosts to open the scoring when Ben Lam crossed following a great burst from No 8 Gareth Evans.

While the Jaguares replied with a penalty, it was the Hurricanes who added to their lead when Ngani Laumape delivered on his reputation as one of the best ball carriers in world rugby to bust through a number of tackles and score.

The end of the first half was reasonably scrappy with the Jaguares having the best opportunity to score.

Unfortunately for them it took a fantastic save from Beauden Barrett close to his own line to deny them when he won the race to the ball following a kick through from the home side.

Ahead 12-6 at the break, the Hurricanes extended their lead again when Julian Savea showed his power to bust a number of tackles before Matt Proctor crossed.

The bonus point was gained when Vince Aso came off the bench to score following a clever kick through by Barrett.

The Hurricanes then produced the best try of the night when Blade Thomson and debutant Alex Fidow combined to send Thomson over with time up.

It was a great way for Fidow to mark his first match for the Hurricanes while Jackson Garden-Bachop also impressed in his first game for the club.
