The Hurricanes are hoping to help out their local fans when a further release of tickets for Saturday's Super Rugby final go on sale tomorrow.
Close to 5000 tickets will be up for grabs tomorrow morning, which includes 1700 that will make up a temporary seating section on the eastern and southern sides of Westpac Stadium.
Hurricanes chief executive James Te Puni said a good chunk of those tickets would be taken offline and sold physically at a Wellington location.
"We understand a number of people who queued up locally on Monday missed out on tickets due to the huge interest generated online.
"Because of that, we plan to join with Ticketek and create a pop-up site at Te Papa, where about 2000 tickets will be available from 8am tomorrow."
Tickets would be a mixture of bronze and silver, and limited to two per person, to give those loyal fans who queued up to purchase, more chance of being successful.
Te Puni said it was only fitting to hold the occasion at Te Papa, given the Hurricanes were about to create history, having not played a home Super Rugby final ever before.
"This really is a historic match for not only the club, but the people of Wellington and our Hurricanes fans that span the eight regions of our family.
"We hope in some way this extra ticket option will give some of those who missed out yesterday, the opportunity to get to the game and enjoy the spectacle it's going to be."
Te Papa's chief executive Rick Ellis said the national museum was happy to help support such an exciting occasion.
"Many would place the Highlanders and Hurricanes among our national treasures, so we are thrilled to help celebrate this historic match."
Online tickets will go on sale via the Ticketek website at 9am, with a maximum of four tickets allowed per person.
