Hurricanes Poua Head Coach Victoria Grant has named a mix of youth and experience to line up in two separate halves to take on Matatū in Saturday's preseason fixture at 11:30AM at Porirua Park.
In the first half team, Te Kura Ngata-Aerengamate lines up at hooker flanked by Black Fern prop, Krystal Murray and Manawatū front rower, Sosoli Talawadua. World Cup winning Black Fern, Joanah Ngan-Woo and Hurricanes Poua captain, Jackie Patea-Fereti round out the tight five.
Wellington’s Maddie Feaunati sees her first run in the Poua jersey, with the powerful duo of Rhiarna Ferris and Layla Sae at six and eight.
Taranaki Whio and Black Ferns half-back Iritana Hohaia teams up with her Youth Olympic Gold Medal winning teammate Carys Dallinger in the insides.
Monica Tagoai links up with new signing, Black Ferns Sevens’ Shakira Baker in the midfield.
In the back three – the electric Ayesha Leti-I'iga joins Wellington teammate, Bernadette Robertson and former Matatū utility Isabella Waterman in rounding out an exciting XV.
Players will be looking to impress ahead of the season opener against the Chiefs Manawa at Levin Domain on Saturday 25 February.
