Tickets for the Hurricanes' home semi-final next Saturday are selling way ahead of the typical trend, despite the opposition still being unknown.
Sales are sitting at more than 17,000 nine days out from the Westpac Stadium match, and the team are hopeful those numbers will keep ticking over as they prepare for their first semi-final as the top qualifier in Super Rugby's 20-year history.
Hurricanes chief executive James Te Puni said everyone within the club was excited by the opportunity to host a semi-final, and he was pleased to see the fans just as pumped.
"Sales are more than 10,000 ahead of what a match has usually sold nine days out, which would give us a projected final crowd of at least 28,000.
"We really hope that once our opposition is known, the strong sales continue, given it's the first time we've had a game of this magnitude on our doorstep in a number of years.
"Everyone knows what a difference a full stadium can make to the home side, so we're certainly hoping we have a full house waving those black and yellow flags."
The Hurricanes will either face the Brumbies, Highlanders or Chiefs on Saturday June 27, depending on how this weekend's qualifying matches play out.
Tickets to the match start from $15 for kids, and $30 for adults. To purchase, or to find out more information, head along to Ticketek.
