Super Rugby returns to Sky Stadium this Saturday afternoon as the Hurricanes take on Moana Pasifika in Round 12 of the DHL Super Rugby competition.
Hurricanes Head Coach Jason Holland has named his side to face Moana Pasifika in the family-friendly 4:35pm kick-off time, with two players set to make their first appearance of the competition.
With Asafo Aumua and Dane Coles ruled out of this weekend’s fixture, Jacob Devery makes his first start of the season at hooker, joining forces with Tevita Mafileo and Tyrel Lomax in the front row. Hame Faiva will look to provide cover from the bench.
James Blackwell makes a return to play following concussion, linking up with Isaia Walker-Leawere at lock. Jamie Booth returns to the run-on side at halfback, with Logan Henry looking to make his first official run of the season off the bench.
New Zealand under-20's representative, Harry Godfrey, will make his second start of the season at fullback, with Josh Moorby providing impact off the bench.
Holland said the team were excited to play in front of their home fans this weekend, following their return from Fiji.
“The fans in Fiji were absolutely amazing but the boys are really keen to get back out in front of home fans this weekend. A family-friendly kick-off is a great opportunity for the fans to get their families together and get behind the boys,” said Holland.
The Hurricanes are also celebrating their Club and Charity Round this weekend. To make it easier for the whole family to join them at Sky Stadium, they are offering up to three kids tickets free with one playing adult. This offer is available online only and will expire on Saturday, May 13, at 3:00pm when tickets return to full price.
All tickets include public transport to the match with Metlink.
Fans are encouraged to wear their club jerseys to the match and take a selfie in their club jersey at the game or at home and use the hashtag #ClubRound to get a photo on the Big Screen.
The Hurricanes chosen charity for Charity Round is Life Flight, which provides aeromedical care to over 1,200 people each year. Fans attending the match are encouraged to donate to Life Flight at the checkout when they buy their tickets.
The Hurricanes have 10,000 t-shirts to give away at the match to support Life Flight, thanks to Chemist Warehouse.
