Hurricanes Poua vs Matatū at NZCIS, Upper Hutt. Saturday 22 March at 2:05PM.
It’s Round 4 of SKY Super Rugby Aupiki as we enter the tail end of the round robin. The match in Upper Hutt will energise the Poua players to be back home in front of their friends and family, after a couple of games away.
Poua #2, Jayme Nuku makes her first start for the 2025 Poua side at hooker. Black Fern, Iritana Hohaia comes in at half back this week. Leilani Hakiwai from Hawke’s Bay, will start at number 13 in the mid-field alongside Rangimarie Sturmey.
Black Fern Layla Sae has been in immense form all season and will again lead Poua on defense and with ball in hand from number 8.
Head Coach Fusi Feaunati said “It’s great to be back home this week. The girls know the season hasn’t panned out as planned so far, but we are driven to change the result in our favour this weekend. The team continues to work hard with a strong focus on preparation, to be ready come game time on Saturday.”
Hurricanes Poua will want to avenge their second-round Aupiki loss to Matatu.
